Surface Grinding - Large Grinding

 

At PECo, we can grind anything from simple die plates to complex Slant Bed Lathe Bases. We have a Waldrich Coburg Way Grinder with both universal and peripheral grinding heads. We can grind parts in a free state, as well as, using magnetic chucks or vacuum chucks depending on the part, material or application. Our skilled grinder hands utilize angled, flat and cupped wheels to hold the geometry of your complex components to .0002" flat, parallel and perpendicular.

 

Our machine has an 800 gallon thermally controlled coolant tank that keeps your part in a flood coolant, thermally controlled environment, thus eliminating thermal expansion and contraction throughout the grinding process. This process is especially effective for aluminum parts as well as machine tool bases, saddles, slides and columns.

We have the ability to grind large components up to 177” long, 65” wide and 54” high with an accuracy of:

• Straightness – 0.00015”-36”
• Parallelism – 0.00015” -36”
• Flatness -0.002”-36”
